CREATIVE DIRECTOR
City Church, a multi-ethnic, multi-economic, multi-generational church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Creative Director (CD) to advance our ministry through strategic storytelling across video, social media, and digital platforms. The Creative Director reports to the Executive Pastor and leads all creative communications for City Church. This role requires strong discernment, creative thinking, effective communication, and consistent deadline management in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will align teams and volunteers with our mission, vision, and values while demonstrating deep understanding of our beliefs and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Modeling Biblical Priorities
Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of City Church. The CD should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. The CD strives to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships and actions.
These objectives are accomplished by:
• Committing to a daily quiet-time with God.
• Participating in a City Church small group on a regular basis.
• Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
• Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
• Supporting the ministries of City Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
• Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of City Church employees, as defined by the Staff Handbook.
Creative Strategy & Development
• Drive creative direction for service programming, promotions, and digital media in line with the creative DNA of City Church
• Stay current with cultural trends to effectively connect the Gospel with the culture
• Lead creative brainstorming for sermon series, programs, and ministry events
• Provide creative insight for physical spaces and visual elements throughout the facility
Video Production
• Produce promotional and in-service videos from concept through post-production (scripting, shooting, editing)
• Develop video strategy that connects City Church's message to the congregation and community
Series Development
• Collaborate with the senior pastor and teaching team to plan sermon series 6-9 months in advance
• Create and manage systems for developing series from concept to implementation
Social Media Management
• Oversee all social media platforms with engaging, on-brand content
• Create cohesive storytelling through photos, videos, and posts
• Shoot and edit lifestyle photography that reflects City Church's identity
Design Oversight
• Oversee design execution for online, on-screen, and print applications
• Manage freelance designers, providing feedback while maintaining brand consistency
• Stay current with design trends
Team Development
• Recruit, lead, and mentor creative volunteers
• Build relationships with technical professionals (technical engineers, graphic designers, web developers)
• Develop partnerships with vendors who share our commitment to excellence
Communications Coordination
• Ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and promotions across all channels
• Coordinate church-wide program promotions strategically
• Establish clear policies and expectations for promotional content
